The Software
The front end (User interface) has been developed using Visual Basic 6, one of the most widely used programming languages in the world (Source: TIOBE Programming Community (TPC) Index click here). The front end is available to download and use for FREE. It can be installed on any number of computers at your school/organisation.The back end is a MySQL database created during installation. MySQL 5.0 Community Edition is a FREELY downloadable version of the world's most popular open source database. It is supported by a huge and active community of open source developers and enthusiasts. The MySQL Community Edition is:
- Freely available under the open source GPL license
- Released early
- Released often
- Includes the latest bleeding-edge features that are under development
The result of this combination is that you can have an extremely powerful, flexible, networked system installed schoolwide for testing your students completely FREE. Its flexibility enables you to write your own questions and categorize them as you wish. You can even include images with your questions. orIf you do not wish to write your own questions you can download questions from the online Questions Database for a small fee (to be arranged)You can even profit from using Pupil Tester by uploading questions you have written to the Questions Database and get paid everytime someone downloads them!

To use the online Questions Database for downloading or uploading questions you will need to register your details first. Click the 'Register' link below. You will then need to access the database from within the Pupil Tester application.
If you do not wish to upload or download questions, but just wish to see what is available you can click the 'View Questions' link below.
Note
The system is still under construction so functionality may be intermittent and actual transfer of questions is not yet available. However, please feel free to register and browse what has been completed.

What Pupil Tester Can Do
- Write your own questions and include images.
- Catagorize your questions by Subject and Topic, that you can create yourself.
- Download questions written by other teachers to your database.
- Upload questions you have written and get paid for them.
- Create tests using any of the questions you have stored in your database.
- Create Quizzes by randomly selecting questions.
- View results as reports and graphs.
- Username and password protected with 3 levels of access for students, teachers and administrators.
