About Report Writer Online

Report Writer Online is one of the online services. Although Report Writer Online was developed as a tool for teachers to write school reports, it can be used in any situation where someone would need to quickly build numerous statements from stored sentences and build them into custom reports. Report Writer Online is a FREE service and can use in 3 different ways.

As a simple comment bank to create statements to paste into your school reports.
Sentences (referred to from here as comments) can be quickly strung together to build statements. The inclusion of various symbols in the comments enables the statement to be unique to each individual. With a click of a button the statement is saved to the clipboard, it can then be pasted into a school report you have opened on your PC. Comments can be typed into the database or uploaded from file, they can be categorized for easy selection and even shared with other users.

To save your statements (along with other optional data) to an Excel file for use as a data source.
Your statements, along with other data that you can optionally input, such as surname, year, group, assessment marks (upto five of them) and a grade, can be saved to the online database. This data can be downloaded to your PC as an excel file. The downloaded file can then be used as a data source for such things as mail merging with your school's existing report template etc.

Saved data can also be used to create and print reports online from a custom report template, that you build to your personal specification. Although each school has a different report template, we have included enough flexibility within Report Writer Online so that most can be reproduced. This has been acheived by allowing the inclusion of 16 text fields, 2 large text fields, a logo, and a customizable table, as well as your saved data ( pupil's name, year, group, statement, assessment marks and grade). You can include or drop as many of these individual elements as you wish, change their size, position and width to build your template to your exact requirements.
